Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names and locations typed into a search box go to the outside company that runs the tool. That company handles the query and returns the response. Crawford County Criminal History does not independently save those search terms in its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email and other direct correspondence may be kept as needed to respond and preserve the related exchange. Those messages are not shared outside the operating team unless a binding legal obligation requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page is opened, standard server records may capture a small amount of technical information:
- The date and time associated with each request
- Pages viewed and the approximate time spent on them

No Criminal-Record Data on File
No personal criminal-record database is built, kept, or sold by Crawford County Criminal History. The service instead provides general routing information for custodians such as the Crawford County Sheriff, Wisconsin Circuit Court, Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Official public-record access and state criminal-history dissemination are governed in part by Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39 and §§ 165.82-165.84. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or outside criminal files, and the service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes are supplied by outside companies. Once information is entered into one of those tools, the provider's privacy policy controls its processing rather than this policy. Because each company sets its own retention and sharing practices, users should read the applicable terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Some links open Crawford County offices, Wisconsin courts and agencies, legal materials, or outside search providers. A destination's own privacy rules apply after a visitor leaves this domain. Those rules should be reviewed before any personal information is provided.
Advertising companies may also rely on their own technology to measure activity across multiple websites and choose which advertisements appear.

This service is meant for adults. It does not knowingly seek personal information from a person younger than 18. If a verified notice shows that a minor provided such information, the data will be removed when applicable.
Your Data Rights
Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39, governs access to records held by Wisconsin public authorities; it does not govern data held by this private resource. Other applicable privacy or consumer law may grant rights based on the circumstances and a user's residence. Where such law applies, a person may:
